Review:
Birmingham is an outstanding show. Perhaps the best of the tour. It is well represented here in this very clean audience recording.  The vocals are crystal clear. Dylan's voice is simply huge on this night. It's melodic, it's teasing, it's full of gruff beauty. Many of these versions are truly incandescent, and are among the best performances of the decade. The entire show is a highlight, with too many individual gems to even mention. The bonus tracks include four beautiful highlights from the previous night. One can only hope that the entire Glasgow show is to be released, as it is simply superb. As for the package, TMR has created a theme for its European releases taken from the American southwest. Most likely as a nod to the western look cowboy hats that Dylan has become so fond of in the new Millennium. This release contains some intimate photos combined with an original border that lends a ragged charm to the packaging,... worthy of the material, and of one's collection.
