Review:
Traditionally, the bootleg vinyl LP contained whatever tracks that were made available to the manufacturer. Sometimes without regard to quality... most generally without regard to continuity. Today the emphasis is on not only the best quality available, but also the most complete recording of a show or session. In this sense, Doberman takes a step backward with this compilation. Though all of these legendary 1965 shows are worthy of any collection, they are all available in more complete form on a variety of other recordings. The reason for the seemingly haphazard gathering (If the title didn't tip you off)  is to chronicle at least one version of all of the earliest 'electric' songs. To this end, the CD presents the entire electric portion of Newport, and the Hollywood Bowl, and the 3 non repetitious songs from Berkeley. The package aesthetics are quite nice.
