It never seemed to me that Dylan and the Dead were able to compliment each other. This is just another stop along the tour. Nothing special. Rainy Day Women #12 & 35, Ballad Of A Thin Man, and Highway 61 Revisited are omitted to allow the show to fit onto one disc. Queen Jane is not listed on the package, but appears out of order on the end of the disc. It is a show highlight, however, this is the version that was released on the official Dylan And The Dead. Dylan sings most of the songs as if he is a caricature of himself.. There is little emotion or feeling throughout the entire performance. It's All Over Now Baby Blue, and a funky Tangled Up In Blue are the other highlights. The songs are edited to fade in and out. It seems to be a soundboard, but is such a high generation that it doesn't matter. Most audience tapes sound much cleaner. The two inserts are printed on the thinnest semi gloss paper imaginable. Don't waste your money on this one unless you're a completeist. Instead, opt for the entire show on the disc entitled Live Vol 2 Unauthorised. © 2002 CD Pinkerton - bobsboots.com |
