Review:
Everyone knows that when Dylan is "on"... he's untouchable. But even the hardest of the hard-core agree that he has performed some stinkers as well. For my money, Bob at his worst, is better than most garbage out there today. Well, this 2 disc, commercial CD-r set is one of those opportunities to hear Bob when he was not at his best. The whole gimmick of this set is that Stuttgart '91 was a fairly lame performance. Had the monitors gone down? Was Bob sober? Who knows. To this, the manufacturer has culled some less than perfect (although far from bad) performances, put a rather un-flattering photo on the cover, and violá... Of course, Bob can't ever be all bad. What Good Am I? stands out as a powerful and touching heartfelt performance. Ballad Of A Thin Man smokes! There are other tunes that work also, so don't write this one off too fast.
