The disc is packed with 76 minutes worth of music. The packaging, however, leaves a little to be desired. While the disc and back are simply printed with the track listings and venue, still, they are adequate. The front cover, however, is a shame. When one pays a premium for a silver disc, it should come with artwork. This release was before the advent of CD-r, so the manufacturer didn't worry about folks shunning it simply for the aesthetics. As for the performance, Dylan weaves drunken slurs into awe inspiring brilliance. His voice is at a new level of power, with some phrasing being truly unique. The show features Ian Wallance who was formerly the drummer for King Crimson. Ian was also Dylan's drummer on the 1978 tour. There is also a guest appearance by guitarist T Bone Burnett*. © 2003 CD Pinkerton / bobsboots.com |
