It's the newly uncovered soundboard recording from the early show of the 17th. This is the only soundboard of the four Club shows that had not yet surfaced. However, there are a few strikes against it. Mostly the same problems that seem to follow upstart Labels. To start with, the graphics, fonts and layout are very minimalistic. There are 3 different tiny photos (about 1¼" or 3 cm), one on each on the various inserts. The tray liner's image is full size, but it is blown up from a small image. It's artsy, but very blurred and pixelated. The entire package smacks of being thrown together on a PC in 30 minutes. Worst of all, the quality of the sound recording is not up to par with the previously released shows from the Club. If you're a fan of the acoustic Supper Club material, of course you will want this, but hold out for The Genuine Supper Club Soundboards release that is in a better package with a cleaner recording. © 2008 CD Pinkerton - bobsboots.com |
