From terrorism to death threats... The true story behind an evil mind A Connecticut attorney by the name of Gilbert Walker III aka 'Bill Clinton' aka 'Monica's dude' aka "Bill" aka "Gil" aka 'many other aliases' that we will discuss later, continues to spread his rhetoric and his lies about Me, my loved ones, friends and patrons of this site and continues to libel us mercilessly for no reason. After a decade of suffering his abuses, and all the while taking the high road, NEVER saying the first bad word about this man, never defending myself... and even protecting his identity... I have had enough! Dear reader, there are many pages to follow that will once and for all expose this individual, and the crimes that he has perpetrated against YOU, as well as me and this and other websites. This introduction page is just scratching the surface of the destruction of this truly evil individual. There are more pages that follow. He has gone to incredible links to protect his true identity, and I have allowed it. No more. He has hurt too many... He has lied one too many times. He has threatened his last victim. Please read every word. I PROMISE to shock you. Monica's Dude recently attacked a patron at the Never Ending Pool Online Bob Dylan Community. He left them the following message: I put my Field Recordings Guide online in March 1999, after several well-documented test runs. Bobsboots came on line six months later, as an LP boot site. Easy enough to verify in the Google archives of rec.music.dylan. Bobsboots did not have any sort of a CD section until July 2000. Virtually all its entries were cut and pasted from my site, and Craig Pinkerton, from the outset, lied and claimed that he had written "every word" on his site. Again, easy enough to verify between the rmd archive and various other web archives, as well as various pages buried on the bobsboots site. After much unpleasantness in late 2001 and early 2002, Pinkerton made a grudging public admission on rmd that he had been cutting and pasting copyrighted material from my site, with much weaseling and claims that various anonymous "contributors" to the site had supplied him with the material. (Not consistent, of course, with his claims of sole authorship, etc). He promised to remove all of the copied material from his site, and I let the matter drop at that time. Bad mistake. While making superficial changes to his site, Pinkerton filed a fraudulent copyright notice with the US Copyright Office, and began making futile efforts to have my site shut down. When these came to my attention in 2006, together with such charming related efforts as Craig's selling CDR boots to gullible newbies at $20/25 per disc, running lotteries collecting thousands of dollars from fans while (by most reports) never paying out the major prizes, selling advertising on his site to crooked commercial boot dealers, and finally setting up a sales site for boot dealers disguised as a "message board," I took action which resulted in several of his sleazy enterprises being shut down. In response, Pinkerton filed a variety of complaints with governmental agencies, accusing me and various other Dylan fans (including the New Pony project partners), who had no involvement with him, but were targeted only because of their friendship with me, of various illegal activities. These complaints have uniformly been rejected, but Pinkerton and his equally crooked wife continue to post variations of them online. These matters are very unpleasant, and if you continue to suggest that I have in some way "ripped off" anyone in connection with bobsboots or related disputes, you will find your life becoming rather unpleasant -- not because I will do anything to you, but because Pinkerton will drag you into one or another of his complaints as a "witness," your identity will be provided by your ISP, etc. Now apologize. First of all, after enduring years of posts such as this... For the very first time... I will respond to his post... line by line. Were it a simple matter of his libel, I would turn the other cheek as I have always done. However, it has become something very dangerous. He has become something very dangerous. I will get to that as we continue. First, though... my response... I put my Field Recordings Guide online in March 1999, after several well-documented test runs. However, what he doesn't state is that I had many related documents online before there was a bobsboots website. What he doesn't say is that I have been chronicling these items for the past thirty years. What he doesn't say is that, according to his website, he is vehemently opposed to commercial bootlegs and that he has never owned one. What he doesn't say is that... having never owned a commercial CD, he had to get his information from somewhere. When he began preparing his website he flooded the newsgroup RMD with requests of information about bootlegs. What he doesn't say (and perhaps doesn't even know) is that many of those requests were answered by me. I have been online since early 1995 in one form or another. Easy enough to verify in the Google archives of rec.music.dylan. Bobsboots did not have any sort of a CD section until July 2000. This is the second truth. However, from day one it was stated that CD's would be coming online in the future to the bobsboots.com website. Many were previously online in simple ASCII text formats for my future use, but were never opened to the public. Everyone can agree that bobsboots.com is a massive effort. The CD's do not appear overnight. We are still swamped and backlogged, and trying to get more up. Virtually all its entries were cut and pasted from my site, This is where the insanity begins. You are now going to finally learn the truth about this hypocrite and habitual liar. First of all, let's give him a credit that he doesn't deserve. Let's assume that virtually all track lists were in fact copy and pasted from his site. In the first place, some of those lists came from me. In the second place (and most importantly), track lists, song titles, CD titles, and many other such lists are not protected under copyright laws!! He has long held to the mistaken belief that if he types up a setlist, adds the date(s), and types in the title, that he now has a copyright protection. He does not!! Being an attorney, one would think that Gilbert Walker would know of this. Playing the devil's advocate and giving him the satisfaction of thinking that I in fact copied set lists from his website... I am perfectly within my legal rights to do so. But if you desire the truth... It NEVER HAPPENED! As for any review of the releases listed on his original page... there was not one original word on his website. Most every description was copy and pasted from Deep Beneath The Waves. Here is the exact disclaimer that has stood on Gilbert's page for years: "The Guide asserts no copyright to excerpts from reviews and comments, which are the intellectual property of their writers. Material from DEEP BENEATH THE WAVES used by permission." A listen through of a cassette tape is not an appropriate or honest way of reviewing the sonic qualities of a particular silver disc. The reason that he could never review one is that he never owned one. He has stated over and over throughout the Internet of his hatred for them and their owners. That's where I become a target of his madness. If my setlists were copy / pasted from monica's dude, why are there a few titles that have always remained on that site that do not appear on bobsboots.com? How does bobsboots.com continue to update new titles over the past few years that don't appear on the field recording guide? The short answer is that NOTHING comes from his site. Even the precious set lists and dates that he has long claimed copyright to. If the title is in my possession or in the possession of a bobsboots.com reviewer then it is reviewed. The setlists are taken from the review disc. If it is not in our possession, it is not reviewed. That is the simple truth and explanation of this 'great mystery'. and Craig Pinkerton, from the outset, lied and claimed that he had written "every word" on his site. Every word on the bobsboots.com website that I claim copyright rights to was indeed written by and/ or dictated by me. There are far more pages on my site than the disc review pages. How could he claim that the hundreds of tutorials are not my own when they don't appear anywhere else? Who wrote them? How can he claim that the LP section is not my own when it exists nowhere else? Why can't he fathom that perhaps the setlists of the CDs came from the same place as the setlists for the LP albums? Everything that exists on the bobsboots.com website is by my design. When Gil started monica's dude, I watched it. It was a simple, one page site with no images and no original content. How could there ever be original content about a commercial boot on his site when he's never owned a commercial boot? His claims were to be a "field recording guide". That would have been a worthy effort. Field recordings are simply live recordings. Obviously, he has had live cassette tape recordings in his possession in the past. Once he tried to turn it into a site that rated commercial boots as well, he was so far over his head that he couldn't see daylight. Once my website was opened to the public, he began to change his site to (perhaps coincidentally) mimic mine. He lost the cumbersome single page format and went with HTML links via disc title like my own. He began to add images and format the tracklists, etc. More power to him. Another thing that cannot be copyrighted is ideas for a layout. If he copied anything or everything from me as far as layout and design goes, he is welcome to do so. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Again, easy enough to verify between the rmd archive and various other web archives, as well as various pages buried on the bobsboots site. I don't even know what this sentence means. After much unpleasantness ...that came from Bill, Anne Thrax, St. Annie, and several other of Gil's "friends" that we will discuss later in this webpage. I defy anyone to search RMD or any other newsgroup or discussion board and find one negative word that I have ever spoken about or against Gilbert Walker or any of his aliases (including Bill Clinton, and Monica's Dude). in late 2001 and early 2002, Pinkerton made a grudging public admission on rmd that he had been cutting and pasting copyrighted material from my site, This is yet another blatant lie. You will never find anywhere on the Internet where I have made a statement that I have ever copied and pasted any copyrighted material. I have never made the statement because I have never committed the crime. Is he trying to suggest that I made these statements for months??? 2001-2002? There is ONE statement that I made ONE time that (paraphrased) reads: "I have inadvertently used a few track lists and dates that were submitted to me by our readers that were copy and pasted from Bill's website." Read the exact post. The only reason that it was made known to me was because of Bill's grammatical errors that were common to a handful of song lists on both of our sites. Were I the liar that he is, I could have simply claimed that I had made those set list errors, and that he copy/pasted them from me. There were no more than eight to ten entries that proved to be from his site. I have since removed them all and retyped them by hand. However, I didn't need to do so. Track lists, dates, venues, song titles, CD titles, lists of items etc. cannot be copyrighted. Even if they are not listed on the CD and someone types them up, they cannot be copyrighted. I didn't have to change a thing. I only did so to try to appease this individual. For him to claim that my post was made grudgingly is ridiculous. I embraced it wholeheartedly, and even encouraged those that were starting to see through him and connect him with the rash of viruses that were then hitting emails of those that collected commercial boots to be kind to him and to visit his site! with much weaseling and claims that various anonymous "contributors" to the site had supplied him with the material. Weaseling? I've told the truth every time I've made a public statement. Just as I am telling the truth with every word that I write here. I am not like Gilbert Walker. I do not have to lie, assume false and multiple personae (that are now exposed for the first time in other pages of this site) and identities in attempt to hurt, criticize, threaten, libel, belittle or demean others for any reason. (Not consistent, of course, with his claims of sole authorship, etc). My claim was that every "copyrightable" entry was written by me. As such, I claim copyright. There have since been a few pages where others have contributed. When that's the case, I credit them on the page. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of hours researching commercial titles that carried no venue, song list, date, city, show, etc. I then type them up and enter them onto the bobsboots.com site. Can I claim copyright? NO! These things ARE NOT protected by copyright as Gilbert continues to claim. Any and all are welcome to copy and paste them from my site for their own use. As for my own thoughts, ideas, reviews, grading scales, tutorials, explanations, etc. etc. that I have put into my own words... I claim sole authorship! Therefore, I was able to procure copyright registration papers. He promised to remove all of the copied material from his site, And I did so. The information on the eight or ten "offending" entries that Bill/ Gil claimed authorship of track lists and dates (what a joke this is! As I've stated... there can be NO copyright to such material!) were completely removed like I stated above. Of course they were later re-typed! Those re-entries were not, however, copy/pasted from Monica's Dude. and I let the matter drop at that time. If letting the matter drop means "publicly libeling my name in various Dylan discussion boards and newsgroups on the Internet, and continually lying about me, bobsboots.com, and verbally attacking anyone that tried to defend us"... then, in his words... he dropped it. If the definition of dropping the matter is "creating some of the most horrific, despicable, and depraved alter ego online characters to ever drive away patrons and shut down multiple message boards"... then I concur. Gilbert Walker is an attorney who seems to hate me with a deathly passion for no reason whatsoever. Even though it is perfectly legal and ethically acceptable for me to do so, I never one time went to his website and copied the set lists or dates that he himself had copy/pasted to his website from newsgroups and emails. I have not once before this expose' said an unkind thing to or about him. I have never caused him harm in anyway. Knowing of his truely evil nature for years, I still protected his identity. I used to post information for him to help start his website. I offered him free space on my website when he lost his own. For which of these good deeds does he hate me so? By his own admission, he has tried and failed numerous times to get me shut down. Could anyone believe for a minute that he, an attorney, wouldn't file papers against me to the US copyright office if even one word of what he spews out was the truth? and began making futile efforts to have my site shut down. This is another complete fabrication. To the contrary, Gilbert was doing everything within his power to shut down bobsboots.com. This will be proven later on in this website. I defy Gilbert Walker to name the first entity that I ever contacted to complain about him or his site until he forced my hand to go to the State Bar. It did not happen. Gilbert Walker was within days of having bobsboots.com forever removed from the Internet. I had remained silent in the face of all of his other attacks throughout the years. However, I could not let him destroy my life's work simply because of what I perceive to be jealousy. He left me no other recourse. Gilbert is a master of deceit, lies, and manipulation. He is the perpetrator. Of all the cruel, undeserved, unprovoked attacks that I've endured at his hand throughout the years... It makes me vomit to hear him trying to turn the entire situation around to make it seem as if we were the ones attacking him. What a liar! It is just the opposite. Gilbert Walker is an attorney at law. If I make one comment on this webpage that is not 100% true, you best believe he would be serving me papers for libel. When these came to my attention in 2006, together with such charming related efforts as Craig's selling CDR boots to gullible newbies at $20/25 per disc, Once again, complete falsehood. I have NEVER "sold" a CDR to anyone for any amount. To help out those that are not able to burn a copy, I offered an opportunity that allowed those individuals to have a webpage of their own that I create, host, and update at no charge. I put them in contact with other traders so that they might begin their own collection by receiving discs from those traders. All of this while helping us to pay a minuscule amount of the massive overhead that this site requires. It is a win-win situation for all, and I have not sold or supplied the CDr boot. There have been no more than four or five people worldwide that have chosen this option... so, rather than the thousands of dollars that Gilbert made up in his head, and has lied about on various websites across the Internet... The truth is, with every customer added together... I was able to pay a few days worth of hosting charges. I also take offense to his calling Dylan fans and newbies "gullible." running lotteries collecting thousands of dollars from fans Believe me, I wish with everything in me that this were a true statement! We have never one time, in the decade that we have been online, collected enough money to pay the overhead on this website. while (by most reports) never paying out the major prizes, By most reports made by Gilbert Walker, that is. We've held several free contests (no cost to enter), and all prizes were awarded. All major prizes were awarded in the one and only donation drive (not lottery) that we have ever held. We accept donations from any who would care to help us stay on line (as do many sites). If one donated to the site during the donation drive, one was entered to win. It was a legal contest because nobody paid to enter, rather they made donations that others had done without incentive. Plus, every donating entrant was guaranteed a prize of at least twice the value of their donation to the website. As the prizes had been donated to us, we could afford to do this. The names were drawn by a completely unbiased third party, and the grand prize winner was in another country and was completely unknown to us or to the third party. A few of the last minor prizes were not claimed. They are still in our office waiting for the winners to claim them, even though the deadline for claiming prizes has long since past. Email addresses of four winners had changed. If Gilbert Walker can provide us with the addresses of the four contestants that didn't receive their prize, we will ship them immediately. selling advertising on his site to crooked commercial boot dealers, Once again, a complete lie. It was only recently that I even allowed google ads to appear on my site. As everyone knows... you don't SELL ad space to google. Once he became aware that I had introduced google adds, he added them to his site as well. However, he failed to create a filter, and for the longest time he actually hosted ads of vendors that were selling illegal CDRs! I am not suggesting that he himself actively committed a wrong with these ads, I'm just pointing out the comical irony. and finally setting up a sales site for boot dealers disguised as a "message board," What does this even mean? We had a message board for anyone to use for any reason they wanted to use it. It was no different than the Expecting Rain or The Never Ending Pool board, and nearly identical to the one that Gilbert Walker himself operates on his site. I truly don't know of one time that it was EVER used to sell a boot (or to sell anything for that matter). We now have a free ad page that anyone is welcome to use. It is hosted by us, so it cannot be shut down by Gilbert. We have never made the first penny from it, because it is FREE to advertisers. Note to the The Never Ending Pool: You have a wonderful website. However, monicasdude has already been on it attacking others. His past actions have caused others to leave previously successful boards. In my opinion, you should either remove him, or at least monitor and censor him or he may cost you your board. Be careful of other aliases he might use as well. I took action which resulted in several of his sleazy enterprises being shut down. Several sleazy enterprises? What a drama queen! He shut down our free message board by lying to Bravenet. It was, in their words, "more economical for us to remove it than to spend time and money investigating, and perhaps face legal action against us." Once shut down, he then went to ProBoards and obtained a nearly exact board for his own site that he continues to operate to this day. As has always been the case, his field recording guide website continues more and more to mirror the look and feel of bobsboots.com. In response, Pinkerton filed a variety of complaints with governmental agencies, accusing me I filed one single complaint with one single agency. The Connecticut Bar Association. It was not in retaliation for him shutting down our message board. It was when, after a decade of suffering at his hand, our website host phoned me to inform me that they were going to pull bobsboots.com off of the Internet to save themselves from being sued by Gilbert Walker III Esq. and various other Dylan fans (including the New Pony project partners), who had no involvement with him, but were targeted only because of their friendship with me, of various illegal activities. There were not various other Dylan fans involved... blatant lie! The only reason that New Pony was even mentioned in the complaint (and it was the ONLY other entity mentioned) was because of Gilbert's involvement with them. It was only one sentence. I then sent an addendum to the board asking them to remove that sentence, which removed all reference to New Pony from the complaint. I mentioned no names of any individuals. Gilbert himself is the one who started naming names to the board. I found his action of doing so reprehensible, and immediately asked for these references to be removed from record. These complaints have uniformly been rejected, The complaint was rejected due to technicalities in how the complaint was filed, that will be explained later in this website. Gilbert Walker was not found innocent of the violations in the complaint. but Pinkerton and his equally crooked wife continue to post variations of them online. Variations of what? Complaints? Where? When? ... When has anyone associated with bobsboots.com ever made a public posting about anything associated with this individual, other than once on a message board when someone offered to defend us, directly to Walker, against the lies that he was circulating on that site? Even then, it was only a defense against the libel... it was not an attack against Walker. Gilbert Walker (aka Bill Clinton, monicasdude, etc.) has accused me of being crooked for the past decade. There is not a crooked bone in my body. I have lost a small fortune in an effort to provide a free service for Bob Dylan fans, and to promote fair practices such as continually advising our patrons to avoid pirates, counterfeits, and illegal downloads. My best intentions have always centered around the fair treatment of the artist Bob Dylan. Yet, I have never tried to defend myself against the lies of Gil Walker. I have ALWAYS turned the other cheek. However, to attempt to drag my wife into his cesspool is a blow below the belt. That final insult was the proverbial straw and catalyst that resulted in this expose'. These matters are very unpleasant, and if you continue to suggest that I have in some way "ripped off" anyone in connection with bobsboots I can point to past actions that Gilbert Walker has taken (such as adding reviews to his site soon after they appeared on bobsboots.com, hosting google ads soon after we did, hosting a message board after having ours removed, creating the title links pages, date links page, recommend recordings page, etc. all seemingly after the design of bobsboots.com. I can also point to pages on the monica's dude website (such as the 'Recommended recordings' page) that have evidently been lifted directly from bobsboots.com. You cannot copyright a list of dates or CD titles, but to go so far as to have bobsboots.com layout and fonts intact on his page is a bit tasteless. I have never mentioned these points before to the first person. Others have drawn their own conclusion. In light of all of this, I can understand completely why some could perceive these actions as "ripping off". I have never made any such allegation (either privately or publicly). Those that continue to accuse Gilbert Walker of intellectual property theft do so without my knowledge or support. However... how many times did I post a review only to see it appear within the next week or two on Monica's dude? At one time I began snail mailing discs of artwork scans to Pink Robert to put on an "artwork site". Gilbert then started using them and linking to them. That's all well and fine. That's the reason that I compiled them... so others could use them. However, once I started linking to my own scans on the Pink Robert site, I was again accused by Walker of stealing! When it happened that the Pink Robert site had to move, all link buttons on bobsboots.com that had been worked on for months were rendered useless. Gilbert then began another attack rant about our dead links. This whole misadventure has prompted us to begin the absurdly arduous task of creating an entirely new set of artwork scans for each and every entry, identify them as having been created by us, and hosting them only on the bobsboots.com website. We are now in that process. or related disputes, you will find your life becoming rather unpleasant -- not because I will do anything to you, Again this is a lie. He has attacked others that he has perceived as enemies at every opportunity using various aliases. Just look at his statement again. "...if you continue to suggest that I have in some way "ripped off" anyone in connection with bobsboots or related disputes, you will find your life becoming rather unpleasant..." Don't you find this tone a bit threatening? The board user did so as well, and stated it in a reply post. Then Walker attempts to disassociate himself from the threat by claiming that the retaliation will come from me? WHAT??? but because Pinkerton will drag you into one or another of his complaints as a "witness," your identity will be provided by your ISP, etc. Drag you in as a witness? I am truly beginning to believe that Gilbert has completely lost it. A witness for what? ... and when? ... and where? ... What is he even talking about? Just one more completely false, underhanded and unsubstantiated attempt that he is making to try to adversely affect our website by making patrons paranoid that I would have any interest at all in "collecting their ISPs"! I have never done so in my life! On the other hand, it has been proved beyond a doubt that Gilbert has used this technique to learn the identity of his perceived 'enemies' so that he could harass them. Now apologize. Gilbert later claims that this is not a threat. In my mind, as in the posters stated response to this demand, this IS a threat. On this website I will be exposing this criminal for all that he is. I could be doing so at the peril of my life. How much do I wish that this were simply the paranoid delusion of a sleep deprived mind. This is no joke. I have had my life threatened, along with the lives of my family... as have my former associates. I have gone into hiding in the past when the perpetrator threatened via my wife's phone to pay a visit to my house. I've had my vehicles tampered with. This is all documented with the proper authorities, and will be proved later in this site. REMEMBER MY EARLIER PROMISE TO SHOCK YOU? Various National media, Ohio law enforcement, Connecticut law enforcement, and the FBI have been contacted about this page and this story well before it became active on line.. The actions of Gilbert Walker III are being monitored, and he has been contacted by legal authorities in regards to these matters. If there is any type of retaliation against anyone involved in breaking this story, believe me... it will be known. Read it, then decide for yourself who's lying: I know that several of you have been following, with interest, the soap opera of posts between Bill at Monica's Dude, myself, and others. Here is an update of events. After two years, I finally received a private email from Bill that brought the situation to light. As you know, there is a standing offer at bobsboots asking our patrons for their contributions of scans and information about silver CDs and LPs. Thanks to all of you for the items that you have sent, and please continue your support in the future. However, it seems that there has been several CD track lists of older CDs supplied to us that have been cut and pasted from Bill's site. While the track list is a factual, non-copyrightable list that is subject to cut and paste, some of the track lists have contained dates and annotations that have clearly been supplied by Bill. As I've not been aware of this situation in the past, none of this information has been credited. I will be working with Bill to correct this oversight, and I would ask that future contributions of song lists to the site that have come from "The Field Guide" be acknowledged as such. Furthermore, the problematic virus-laced emails that have appeared at the bobsboots mail room in the past are a phenomenon of online life that has plagued many sites, and contaminated a large number of servers. Thankfully, the nimda medusoid is in remission. At no time have I ever implied that this malady is resultant from, related to, or in any way connected with "The Field Guide" or Bill Clinton. However, Bill has been receiving accusatory email. I know that there have been many passionate debates regarding the two sites, and everyone has their own thoughts. These varied opinions, however, should not degenerate to the point of imprecation.
