What I like about bobsboots.com
by: Bruce McKiel

One dark night, a light flickered in the apartment across the hall.

The door to the suite was ajar; and Henry peeked inside. The flickering was from a candle sitting near a partially opened window.

Hearing strains of a familiar song coming from the room to the left, he knocked at the door.

A sound of a chair being moved across the floor was interrupted by a roaring "Going Going Gone" as the bedroom door was quickly flung open.

A beautiful red haired woman stood there, clutching a candlestick, demanding, "Who are you, and what are you doing here ?"

Taking a deep breath, Henry explained that he'd merely noticed the open door, and saw what appeared to be a fire flickering inside. He could smell the aroma of nag champa incense mixed with the much easier to identify odor of burning cannabis. "By the way, I'm Henry, your neighbor across the hall."

"I'm Jennifer, " she said, relaxing. "Is that a Bob Dylan t-shirt you're wearing ?" she asked. "Not completely..." Henry replied. Jennifer's eyes widened to examine the shirt, "It sure looks like Bob to me..."

 "It IS, it's a t-shirt from a website called "Bob's Boots" ...I'm a bit of a Dylan nerd, I'm afraid."

"Don't EVER say Dylan and NERD in the same sentence again, ...besides... I LIKE nerds."

She stood aside to reveal her cozy bedroom, with a PC on in the background.

Pointing to her PC screen, he noticed an image of Mr. Dylan, white-face makeup circa 1975. The music from a Dylan CD played on the computer.

"Show me this world you speak of..."

Henry sat down in front of the computer and had barely typed  "http://www.bobsboot...  "when he felt her hands...  thumbs digging into the muscle on his shoulder....
