There are only a couple of novice mistakes. The worst is that the package claims it to be a soundboard recording. It is not. However, the stereo recording mics are removed from the audience, and it indeed sounds as if it could be a soundboard. The mix is incredible. The best quality is to be found on the acoustic tracks. The other minor complaint is that the back is a bit busy and confusing. Don't let that worry you, though. The photos and artwork are stunning. Hopefully we'll see more from this Label, but judging from their name, perhaps not another Dylan. Highlights include Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You that sounds so much better than the original with Dylan's matured, gravely voice; and the bonus track Stone Walls and Steel Bars with it's beautiful bluegrass style harmonies. © 2006 CD Pinkerton - bobsboots.com all rights reserved |
