Far From Shore
source: Mountain View, CA June 11, 1988 Tracks: Subterranean Homesick Blues My Back Pages I'll Remember You Stuck Inside Of Mobile Simple Twist Of Fate Driftin' Too Far From Shore Man Of Constant Sorrow (Trad. Arr. Dylan) Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll Blowin' In The Wind I Want You I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine Shelter From The Storm Maggie's Farm It Ain't Me, Babe Like A Rolling Stone In The Garden Review: A release from the earliest days of the Never Ending Tour with just G.E.Smith (Guitar) Chris Parker (Drums) and Kenny Aaronson (Bass). Not even any harmonica! Nevertheless, these are some of the best shows of Dylan's entire career, with inventive arrangements and powerful vocals throughout. This is not the complete show. The two grayed out songs were not included to allow the show to fit onto one disc. Neil Young is featured on additional guitar on the last 6 tracks. The sound quality isn't up to today's standards, and can at times seem a little distant, although by no means quiet. The overall sound is very good, however. Well defined and well spaced throughout. A very enjoyable listening experience. © 2002 Mike McGarr edited by CD Pinkerton@bobsboots |
