In The Garden encore: Blessed Be The Name Pressing On Review: by: Dr.Montgomery This title is exquisite. The audio is very good for the period, and Thinman has remastered the master tape edits and cuts, making for smooth transitions concerning any flaws on the master. The tape itself seems largely untouched, and retains all the integrity of the source. C.R. states that there's a cut before When You Gonna Wake Up, but it appears to be a mitigated cut that fades in and out. It's not offensive in the least. The packaging and aesthetics are terrific. Thinman continues to use a thick, glossy paper stock for its inserts. The photos are clean and smooth and very atmospheric, while the color schemes are rich and coordinated. Particularly nice is the original review that Thinman offers on the inside of the fold-out insert. It's well done, and yet another indicator of how much they care about the music and the product. I've always had a bit of partiality towards this label. Perhaps it's because of the large volume of gospel shows they turn out. This era is one of the favorites of my friend Dr. Pinkerton as well. All in all, this is a first rate release. |
