In 1966 There Was ____ source: England, May 1966 Tracks: Liverpool: Tell Me Mama I Don't Believe You Baby Let Me Follow You Down Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues Sheffield: Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat One Too Many Mornings Birmingham: Ballad Of A Thin Man Manchester: Tell Me Mama I Don't Believe You Baby Let Me Follow You Down Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat One Too Many Mornings Ballad Of A Thin Man Like A Rolling Stone Review: Just as there was confusion with the original album release, there is a bit of confusion behind this CD release. There were two different packages with two different names that contained the same disc. This release includes an inferior cover with poor aesthetics. There is simply a TMOQ sticker on the disc that covers the catalog number. Along with this release was one entitled A Week In The Life. It has a nicer full color cover. So, it would be logical to assume that this limited release was due to a shortage of covers of the Week In The Life release. If this were the case however, why does the disc itself go by the title of: "In 1966 There Was"? Either both packages were released by the same entity, or a trade was made between two wholesalers of discs without covers. Until we hear from the manufacturer, we can only speculate. The TMOQ sticker and the rubber stamp facsimile on the front cover are both used as a romantic throwback and nod to decades past. Neither of those original vinyl LP manufacturers are behind this CD release. © 2006 CD Pinkerton - bobsboots.com |
