Review:
This package is typical of the late 80s and early 90s releases by this Label. There are a few nice black and white photos of the event, but for the most part, it is simplistic. The IOW concert is historically important, but not an incredibly inspired performance. It has never been a favorite of mine. One reason is that there has never been an incredible sounding tape of the entire show to circulate. Therefore, as with all previous releases,  the Label gathers the various quality recordings of each song from all sources. In this case, however there are better circulating tapes than some of the quality represented here. There is an extreme range of sound qualities from one song to the next. The best quality tracks are those that are simply pirated from the official release.

The Isle of Wight performance was at:
Woodside Bay Nr. Ryde, Isle of Wight, England

It marked the first full Dylan concert in over two years.

All tracks backed by The Band except:
Tracks 4 -7 - Dylan solo

There was a PA tape made of the concert, but it is not known to exist outside of the CBS vault master.

Tracks 1, 13, 15, & 16 are stereo PA recordings that were released in 1970 on 'Self Portrait'.
