Released three months after the concert along with the companion set Skippin' Reels of Rhyme, this was the first CD set of the Brixton show to hit the streets. The package is fairly nice. The recording is fairly good as well, although it was mastered at low volume. Fortunately, there is not much floor noise (white noise), so crank it up. The mix is acceptable, but a bit distant and bass heavy. Dylan's vocals are buried a bit too far. As there are better releases now available, leave this one for the completeists. Show highlights include the first Tombstone Blues in over a decade. © 2006 CD Pinkerton / bobsboots.com |
