Twelve CDs and two DVDs for a total of fourteen discs! Each CD looks alike with the title of the show and the CD number being the only thing that changes. Each comes in its own clear plastic sleeve for protection. Along with the set is a twenty page book with incredible photos and full track and venue information for each concert. All images linked above have been created for those who prefer to house their discs in jewel cases. Every image is taken directly from the enclosed booklet. Everything comes housed in a beautiful cardboard box, which is shown at the links above as well. The shows concentrate on the June 2008 European tour, and each show is represented on two discs of the set. That in itself is no problem. I prefer that shows be presented this way. However, that means that some discs have as few as five songs on them. Even that would be no problem if the set were issued at a special discounted rate, but the retail price that we've seen is in the $250 USA range. That's a chunk 'o change to spend on the shows that one writer claimed "Bob is singing like a jazzed-up drunken woolly mammoth" To each his own. The sound quality varies from good to very good, and all shows are a good listen... just not all at one sitting. There's a lot of repeats here. Along with the six full concerts on CD, there is also two DVDs included. The pro shot 1986 show with Tom Petty... for some reason or another... and an amateur shot of the full concert from Stadthalle Vienna, Austria June 10, 2008. The sound quality is as good as the other discs, so basically, there are seven full 2008 shows included. The video is ok, but obviously amateur. There were only 500 of these boxes produced for the world market. That's half the run of the average boot. Each box set comes individually numbered, to add to the collectible nature. It's a big pill to swallow. If you have a big enough drink to get it down... go for it. © 2008 CD Pinkerton - bobsboots.com
