Review:
This CD contains the complete circulating tape of the recording that was made directly from the hearing impaired jacks at the venue. The final five songs, Everything Is Broken, Lenny Bruce, Highway 61 Revisited, What Good Am I? and Ballad Of A Thin Man circulate as an audience recording, but were not recorded directly from the outputs. This is, therefore, a broadcast recording that could be considered "direct from the soundboard". It's in as good a quality as the tape. Excellent instrument separation, and a fantastic overall mix; with vocals up front, crisp, and clear. The songs are well performed, but a few are rushed through as if Dylan wanted to 'just get it over with'. There is also an inordinate amount of fumbled lyrics. The guitar playing is nice, the quality is exceptional, and the package aesthetics are very good.
