Masters Of War When You Gonna Wake Up In The Garden Encore: City Of Gold It Ain't Me Babe (3) Knockin' On Heaven's Door Review: Thinman has released a nice package with the issue of this slimline double CD. The colorful montage covers and gold mirror like fonts border on the cliff of gaudy... but don't fall over the edge. The silk screened discs use the same images, but the effect on the discs is a more desirable one. As this show was recorded directly from the soundboard, one could get one's hopes up... but, alas, this is an audience recording. It is in great quality, however, albeit slightly removed from the speakers. This show has traded among collectors since 1981, and was released as a CDr entitled Dylan Is The One. The songs from the soon to be released Shot Of Love are introduced to the audience, and are played and received well. Other highlights include the hard rocking Masters Of War, the only European outing of City Of Gold, and a first an rare appearance of the acoustic It Ain't Me Babe. The name is most appropriate. Taken from a line in the new title song Shot Of Love, it examines Dylan's slow and emotional struggle as he begins to turn away from an all gospel show and starts to include secular songs both old and new. © 2007 CD Pinkerton - bobsboots.com |
